most of the right front flipper is also missing.\u00a0This probably occurred as she was coming in to nest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>08\/03\/2015<\/strong>\u00a0Turtle has been dropping eggs almost daily which are not viable.\u00a0She has been swimming well and eating seagrass.\u00a0Water level was raised.<\/p>\n<p><strong>08\/25\/2015<\/strong>\u00a0Turtle is eating a full diet of seagrass and remains active.\u00a0She is currently on antibiotics for her wounds and has dropped more than 100 eggs to date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>09\/11\/2015<\/strong>\u00a0Surgery was performed to remove two protruding metatarsals from her left rear flipper.\u00a0She returned to her tank, and water level was lowered.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>09\/12\/2015<\/strong>\u00a0Turtle is recovering well.\u00a0Tank water level was raised to full, and she is now eating capelin and shrimp in addition to her seagrass diet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>10\/23\/2015<\/strong>\u00a0Examination reveals turtle is healing well after surgery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>12\/04\/2015<\/strong>\u00a0Honu was moved to a larger, deeper tank for evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>02\/05\/2016<\/strong>\u00a0Honu continues to do well and is being considered for release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>03\/04\/2016<\/strong>\u00a0Honu was released at Bayfront Park on the north end of Anna Maria Island, Manatee County.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>07\/23\/2015\u00a0Turtle stranded offshore in Pinellas County at the north end of Caladesi Island.\u00a0She is an adult female with three of her flippers missing.\u00a0Damage to the two rear flippers and tail&nbsp;<span class=\"ellipsis\">&hellip;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-10923","patient","type-patient","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Honu | Mote Marine Laboratory &amp;
