\n The second graders at Braden River Elementary School raised $1,001 in March and April 2017, which they donated to support Mote's Sea Turtle Conservation and Research Program on April 18, 2017. On April 18, the second graders took a field trip to visit Mote Aquarium, where they practiced field sampling with dip nets in Sarasota Bay, guided by Mote educators. The field trip was the culmination of their fundraising project, which included running during mornings in March to raise donation pledges, along with selling popcorn in April. Along they way, the students learned about sea turtles and the reasons to help these endangered and threatened species. <\/figcaption>\n <\/figure>\n <\/div>\n\n \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
