Entanglement cause turtle to be tethered to the bottom where she had just enough slack to surface to breathe.  A fisherman reported the animal and she was rescued and brought to Mote for rehabilitation.  &#8220;Ronda&#8221; is covered in a large amount of epibiota and has rope and monofilament wrapped around both front flippers and neck.  Fishing gear and rope was removed and turtle is now in a shallow rehab. tank.  Blood work reveals anemia so started Ronda on weekly iron injections and injectable antibiotics due to entanglement wounds.<br \/>\n<strong>08\/15\/2024 <\/strong> Ronda is very active and eagerly eating all seafood offered.  The water level in her tank has been raised to full depth.
