cryopreserved specimens.<\/li>\n<li>Enhance and continue to develop and refine cutting edge science for coral fragments with a focus on cryopreservation.<\/li>\n<li>Scale up and build out by increasing geographic node operations and expanding the core functions of the Alliance.<\/li>\n<li>Collect reaching collection goals for each year until 2026 to reach overall aim of holding complete, class=\"h4\">&gt;50-year aspirations<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a system that not only holds the coral fragments collected by the alliance, but create links between restoration organizations to help fuel their efforts to reintroduce species.<\/li>\n<li>Continue making efforts towards assisted evolution and maintaining a large cryo-banking system for fragments.<\/li>\n<li>In-depth genetic testing of the coral samples collected so the overall scientific understanding of corals can be expanded to further improve future efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>How we work<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Database management:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We have big goals we want to achieve together so we need to be able to keep track of how we are progressing towards these goals.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Museum vouchers:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> We want to ensure that there are preserved specimens that can be accessed for future work particularly to understand the genomic diversity that has been banked.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Genomics: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To understand how much genetic diversity we hold we require a strong approach to genomics also to understand how corals are changing over the years and in reaction to the threats they face.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long-term storage: Corals are being grown-out and they need a safe and secure place to do so.
