The\u00a0Arthur Vining Davis Library & Archives at Mote Marine Laboratory was founded in 1978 with the mission of providing access to scholarly materials that support world-class research and increase the understanding of marine and environmental science.<\/p>\n

The library houses approximately 25,000 volumes including over 16,000 books and reports, 500 journal titles (approximately 11,000 journal issues), 4,500 cataloged reprints, and 2,000+ Mote Technical Reports, as well as historical publications of the laboratory. The library collection reflects the research interests of the Laboratory: coastal, shelf and estuarine ecology, benthic ecology, coral reef physiology, fisheries, finfish mariculture, aquaculture, elasmobranch biology and biomedical research, fates and effects of toxins in the marine environment, ocean acidification, marine mammals of the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, and sea turtles. Materials in the library support the research conducted by Mote scientists and staff and are primarily of a scientific\/technical nature.<\/p>\n
