Read more about each internship below.<\/p>\n<div class=\" bsd-accordion\" id=\"1\"><div class=\"card\"><div class=\"card-header\" id=\"heading-card-0-0\">\n                    <span data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#card-0-0\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"card-0-0\">\n                    Library &amp; Archives Internship\n                    <span class=\"accordion-icon\"><\/span>\n                    <\/span>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"card-0-0\" class=\"collapse show\" aria-labelledby=\"heading-card-0-0\" data-parent=\"#1\">\n                <div class=\"card-body\">\n                    <h6><strong>Potential Projects<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Working with the intern to determine their goals, internship projects may include processing collections, scanning materials, developing metadata templates, internal outreach, and entering metadata into a digital asset management system.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><strong>The following qualifications are required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in special librarianship<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>High levels of responsibility, flexibility and a desire to learn<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The following qualifications are preferred:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in marine science and marine science history<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of current archival standards<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, Photoshop, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special Considerations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internships will be unpaid<\/li>\n<li>Interns will be expected to work with an advisor if they wish to receive course credit<\/li>\n<li>Interns must work at least 120 hours<\/li>\n<li>Work times are flexible upon approval from the librarian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Contact Information<\/strong>:<br \/>\nLibrary &amp; Archives Director <a href=\"mailto:library@mote.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">library@mote.org<\/a><\/p>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div><div class=\"card\"><div class=\"card-header\" id=\"heading-card-0-1\">\n                    <span data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#card-0-1\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"card-0-1\">\n                    Breder Internship\n                    <span class=\"accordion-icon\"><\/span>\n                    <\/span>\n            <\/div>\n            <div id=\"card-0-1\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"heading-card-0-1\" data-parent=\"#1\">\n                <div class=\"card-body\">\n                    <p>The Breder Internship at Mote\u2019s Arthur Vining Davis Library &amp; Archives is an opportunity to learn about archival practices and get hands on experience while delving into the papers of an important figure in marine science history: Charles M. Breder, Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Breder was an experimental and behavioral ichthyologist. He is best known for his work on the reproductive, schooling, and social behaviors of fishes, with a special interest in flying fishes and fish locomotion, as well as the evolution and behavior of blind cave characids from Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Breder served at the director of New York Aquarium and as a curator at the American Museum of Natural History. He was a mentor and long-time friend of Mote&#8217;s founding director, Dr. Eugenie Clark. He served as interim director of Mote Marine Laboratory in 1967, and spent many years as a senior research associate and member of the board of directors at Mote.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project activities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Processing archival materials<\/li>\n<li>Verifying and updating a finding aid<\/li>\n<li>Selection and digitization of materials<\/li>\n<li>Working with Mote\u2019s digital asset management system, Mote CLARK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The following qualifications are required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in special librarianship<\/li>\n<li>Excellent\u00a0communication\u00a0skills<\/li>\n<li>High levels of responsibility,\u00a0flexibility,\u00a0and a desire to learn<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The following qualifications are preferred:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in marine science and marine science history<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of current archival standards<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Adobe\u00a0Acrobat\u00a0Pro, Microsoft Office\u00a0suite, Google suite, Photoshop, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special Considerations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interns must work a minimum of 200 hours<\/li>\n<li>Work times are flexible upon approval from the librarian<\/li>\n<li>The internship will take place on-site at Mote\u2019s City Island campus in Sarasota<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interns will receive a $3000 stipend for this position. The stipend will be paid in three payments during the internship: beginning, middle, and end (based on completion of commitment). Applicants must be available for the full duration of the internship to qualify for the stipend.
